A Few Tips for a Successful Trip

Traveling can sometimes add a little stress to that restful vacation. We want to give a few tips that might help you be better prepared for your road trip.

1. 1.  Write a checklist of things to pack or what is needed a few weeks ahead of the planned road trip.

   Writing a checklist can make sure you will have all the necessities. Although most accommodations such as hotels and motels offer small toiletries, it might not be enough for the whole family or you might be allergic to some of them without knowing.  Plus some toiletry items might not be offered.

   Common things most forgotten are:

   • Toothbrush
   • Razors
   • Medications - or enough medications. One needs to plan for things that could hold you up and make your trip longer.
   • Different shoes to match outfits packed.
   • Things not packed for inclement weather.
   • Cameras - Laptops - Cell Phones
2. Map out your trip.

   Mapping out your trip to make sure all roads are ok to travel and the quickest route can help save you time and money. Check the internet for road delays and always check the weather for the days to travel.

3. Lay out all items and check them off the list before packing.
4. Double check your reservations if you made any.
5. If you are renting a vehicle make sure you have one reserved before getting to your destination.

   To often people get to their destination thinking they can rent a vehicle once they get there. This may be possible, but they might not have any ore have the type of car you want to travel with. Plus, there are many times you can get better deals over the internet when you plan ahead.  If part of your trip involves air travel and the airport auto rental places are all full of reservations and they don't have a automobile for you it will cost extra money to take a cab to another car rental place in town, or you would have to wait until the rental business brings it to the airport. Either way you are out time, and may be out extra costs.

6. Carry an address book and make sure you have all the addresses and phone numbers you might need in case of an emergency.
7. Make sure you have something in your wallet or handbag that in case of an emergency, someone can contact those that need to be contacted.
